Mountain Trip

We were able to go on a mountain trip this year into East Timothy Lake with the Cornia's from Randolph. Pretty eventful trip (first one ever to attempt alone, thank goodness for Dad's help to get packed)...almost lost the pony off the mountain with Newly, had to save dogs in the river, and nearly lost every jake spinner that we took! It was a fun trip, good weather, found a couple of arrow heads, no cell service, and lots of good food! LOVE THE MOUNTAINS.

I haven't posted in forever so I decided that if I can make one post a year I'll be doing good. So Year 2011 has been great...I started working for the Forest Service this summer and Jared continues to work at Valley Implement and Irrigation. Most of our spare time is spent outside of Logan either in Randolph or the Basin. Some Saturdays Jared gets to come with me to work and we ride our horses into the Wilderness. Jared is finishing up his teaching degree in December and life is moving so fast! Coming up on our two year anniversary and "Life is Great!"

THE STORY: We went fishing at a pond and the first fish Jared caught he asked me to put in the fishing kreel (basket)...a bit confused as to why he wasn't going to "kill" the fish first before putting it in the kreel...I opened the lid and to my surprise found it full of soda's, candy kisses, treasures, and laffy taffy's and A RING!! I then gave the fish to him and he released it as I got the ring out of which he took got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I said YES and then he put the ring on my slimy fish hand! :-)

Later that evening we went and shot clays with Nick and Cindy...Quite a day! :-)
Oh and here's a picture of the beautiful ring!! The best part about getting it was the man who put it on my finger...a gold wedding band will soon join it!

Dodge Finals Rodeo!

Jared and I love spending time in Preston with Nick, Cindy, and the girls. A trip to Sportsman's Warehouse, dinner @ Texas Roadhouse, and a night enjoying the rodeo are some of the many things we've enjoyed with them...

Julie & Russ's Wedding

Julie and Russell were married on March 28,2009 in the Vernal Utah Temple. The day began with the wedding on a cool spring morning and ended with a wonderful reception at the Lapoint chapel! The both looked very happy :-)

Stained glass is my favorite hobby (next to riding horses) Some day -not to far away- I'm gonna do it as my profession out of my home. These are the windows I did my senior year of HS for Missy and Tommy's home in Roosevelt! This is a hobby that allows me to be creative and work with my hands rain or shine:-)!!

This is when I used to have super long hair...not any more!
My roommates from my first year at college were always good to try new things with me. They came country dancing and even bought me beer for my 20th b-day (don't worry, we only washed our hair with it). Lots of good times. Karrie (left) recently got married and Beth (right) is on a mission in Tucson Arizona.
Laura Cheney and I were room mates this fall, she's always good to take me to some of the ranches around that she works on and get me around some horses and farm stuff.
School keeps me pretty busy with clubs and stuff. Range club does some pretty sweet things like clay shooting! Student council is fun because of the good people and IWA (Institute Womans Association) is the best because of Lannette Pettit!

Family

I have to say that I think I have one of the greatest families around. All because two wonderful people fell in love! I've been very lucky to have great sisters who have married great men and given us sweet little ones to play with! We are a close family and share many wonderful memories together (most of which were made working on the farm).

No Place Like Home!

So the farm is my favorite place in the world...not just cause it's where my family is but I just love the farm way of life. After going to college I've realized just how lucky I am to grow up on a ranch. I love just about everything about it, fixing fence, feeding cows, much more but most of all doing hay! Hay season is the best part of the year, I love to see the fresh cut rows of hay or a field full of bales...it's a feeling I can't explain. Though I've gone away from home and grown up some, the farm holds a special spot in my heart. I'm convinced it's the only and best way for me to grow up (cause I'm still a kid):-)

Mountain Work-Summer 2008

These are just a few of the many great pictures taken of our summer job! It was amazing, I don't think I could ask for a better job...working up in the mountains with my family, doesn't get much better. What we did in short was stabilize Brown Duck lake. It was quite the process with a lot of different people and agencies involved. Equipment had to be flown in and we lived in wall tents for the duration of the job (we had the most well equiped camp I've ever seen). It was awesome and I look forward to doing it again this next summer!

Howdy! So my sis's got me into this...we'll see how it all works out, I'm definitely not the computer one of the family. I'd wear this cowboy hat all the time if I didn't feel so out of place at school...even though dad calls it a dude hat:-)
